There are two parts to this tutorial:

The finished size of this bear crochet baby blanket is 28.5” x 28.5” (72 x 72 cm) approximately.

In part two of this tutorial, I’ll show you how to crochet the solid granny square (make 12 of these for your blanket). I’ll also show you how I arranged my squares to form the blanket. And lastly, I show you how to crochet the border.

To make your crochet squares you will be working in the round. You can start your work by either:
1. Making a magic circle or
2. Chain 4, then slip stitch to the first chain to form a circle.

IMPORTANT: If you choose method 1, make sure that you securely weave in the yarn tail to ensure that the middle of your square does not unravel.

This is an easy crochet tutorial and as long as you know how to work the following stitches, you will have no problem in making up this bear crochet baby blanket :
ch(s) – chain(s)
dc – double crochet
dc2tog – double crochet two together (also known as a dc decrease)
EXdc- Extended Double Crochet (I’ll explain this stitch in the tutorial)
hdc – half double crochet
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
st(s) – stitch(es)

MATERIALS USED (AFFILIATE LINKS):
🔹Yarn: #3 (fine) / DK / 8 ply. I used Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/6: 2 balls in the colour beige (004); 7 balls in the colour baby blue (032); 1 ball in the colour white (001). To embroider the nose and eyes you’ll need some scrap worsted / aran weight yarn in the colour black.
🔹SUBSTITUTE YARN: #3 (fine) / DK / 8 ply.
