Today (Saturday 4th July) saw the commencement of a new route to Manchester Airport in the form of Iran Air from Tehran who from today will operate a 1 weekly service between Manchester and the Iranian capital. Operated by an A330-200 aircraft the route is suspected to be served until September/October time.
The new airline is a very welcome addition to Manchester Airport as capacity and flights slowly start to pick up as the industry recovers from COVID-19.

EP-IJB operated the inaugural flight, touching down on 23R just before 08:30am this morning, and departing around 10:15 back to Tehran. Some typical British and Mancunian weather however the rain did hold off for its arrival and departure.
